Regidrago Deck Evolving Skies

Overview

Regidrago from Evolving Skies, perhaps, is one of the strongest non V Pokemon. It has an astonishing power that can even match some of V and VMAX Pokemon. Its second attack, Dragon Energy has 240 base damage and this damage is reduce by 20 for each damage counter on Regidrago.

One of the cool thing about this attack is that you can use this attack every turn unlike Zacian V which you have to wait another turn before you use its attack, Brave Blade again. With this kind of damage, almost all the V Pokemon can be OHKO. Although Dragon Energy damage can be varied depending on its HP, the damage reduction can be ignored since you can set up other Regidrago on your bench and the chances of it survives against V Pokemon are pretty low after using Dragon Energy attack.

Like most of the Dragon Pokemon, Regidrago also need 2 different types of Energy to use Dragon Energy. The attack requires 2 Grass Energy and 1 Fire Energy. For 240 damage, attaching 3 Energy can be considered very generous as its attack power is comparable to V and VMAX Pokemon. Since this attack require more Grass Energy than Fire Energy, it is more appropirate to accelerate Grass Energy set up and attach 1 Fire Energy from your hand to it as usual.

Energy Setup

One way to accelerate 2 Grass Energy set up is to use both Eldegoss and Cherrim together. First, use Eldegoss Ability, Cotton Transport to search 2 Grass Energy card from your deck. Then, use Cherrim Ability, Spring Bloom to attach those 2 Grass Energy to Regidrago. After that, you can attach the remaining Fire Energy from your to Regidrago, Doing so, you will be able to attack with Dragon Energy within 1 turn.

Since both Eldegoss and Cherrim are Stage 1 Pokemon, it is also not that difficult to set up them.

Alternative, you can also use Rillaboom Ability Voltage Beat to attach 2 Grass Energy from your deck to Regidrago. However, you will need longer time to set up because Rillaboom is a Stage 2 Pokemon and takes 3 turns to set up.

Useful Supporter

Rosa is a perfect card for Regidrago deck. When your attacking Regidrago was knocked out, you can use Rosa to find another Regidrago, 1 Fire Energy and 1 Trainer Card. Then, you will able to attack with another Regidrago again as long as you managed to set up Eldegoss and Cherrim on your bench.

Stadium

As Regidrago Deck demands Stage 1 Grass Pokemon [Eldegoss and Cherrim], Turffield Stadium can be used to find those Pokemon.

Energy Recycle

In case your are run out of Grass Energy to accelerate, you can use Energy Retrieval or Klara to put 2 Grass Energy from your discard pile into your hand. Then, use Cherrim Ability, Spring Bloom to attach 2 Grass Energy to Regidrago. On top of that, Klara can also be used to put 2 Regidrago from your discard pile into your hand.
